Family and taxis...Week 11

This week was a crazy one! This coming Saturday I will be companions with Elder Donson. We are both in training, but our comps have to go to Saltillo for a meeting. So we are together for a couple of days. Send prayers! But I know it will be a blast!

Also coming up this Saturday will be my first baptism with Cesar. He is a magician. I'll have to get a video of him doing a card trick sometime. He is really good! His family is really cool as well! We ate dinner with them last night and they asked us about why we were there, and then all of the sudden we were talking about temples and eternal families! It was wonderful!

It has been really clowdy and it is getting a lot colder, so hopefully not too much rain will come, but it rained today and I got soaked after playing volleyball, but it was fun!

We have 2 new investigators. A boyfriend/girlfriend couple. They came to church with us after we had just barely met them and invited them to church! Then after they said that they wanted to meet with us again and learn more! I'm not sure if this was the reason, but we had the primary program in the Rama Centro branch, so that was just absolutely precious!

The next thing is the taxis. I have been very close to being hit quite a few times cause they drive kind of recklessly. One of the times I was getting money out to pay the taxista (driver) and he was backing up and almost ran over me! But I'm good though. Here's the good story though. We need to always be contacting, so I was trying to contact the driver. He seemed to have known a lot about the Gospel already, and then after 10ish minutes he told me that he was a member. It's okay though. I got to practice my contacting skills. There's another story though. I was contacting another taxista and he stopped me and said "I speak fluent english my friend. I'd love to hear your message, but do it in english. I get tired of speaking spanish all of the time." So that was wonderful and now we're teaching him!

Here's one thing that I've learned this week. It is: listen well. I have to pay so much attention when talking with someone to be able to understand. So here's my challenge to y'all.

There's always someone to listen to. Your boss, your parents, your siblings, your children, the Holy Ghost. Take the time everytime you're talking with someone to listen intently and respond honestly and kindly. And with the Holy Ghost... The Holy Ghost is a member of the Godhead. That makes him a God. That means that you have a God dwelling within you trying to help you do what's right and stay on the road to becoming a god yourself. So, listen well.

Holidays are coming up and I'm excited to learn more and more about the Mexican culture!

Love you all!
Keep the Faith!

Love,
Elder Taylor
