Cookies...Week 3

Hi everyone! Just got into week four here at the CCM and it´s a blast! Still can´t understand how to work the Spanish computer, so bear with me.

You´re probably wondering why my title is cookies. Well... my companion really loves cookies!
I have learned over the past week how to love those I am serving with. Elder Turner and I get along really well, but I recognized that I can always love a little more. It´s been a struggle recently because I´m a really organized person and it´s hard living with people who are not that way, AND also haven´t ever done their own laundry in their entire lives (as of yet)! I learned that I can love and serve others more than I am now. I did Elder Atkin´s laundry for him (he´s one of my roomies). He has been sick the ENTIRE four weeks we´ve been here and it´s just one thing to the next. I´ve talked with people in my district about how to deal with girl problems! You know when you have the spirit with you when you have no idea how to deal with those. Last of all, I´ve learned to relax. Shout out to Mrs. Wilson for that tip 👍

Some of you may have heard of the earthquake here in Mexico City. That is the first time I have felt an earthquake. Here´s one tip: try not to be in the bathroom during an earthquake, you won´t know what to do. But hopefully the Spirit will guide you ;)

Last of all, here is my challenge to you all for this week:
Find someone you love so much (or that you should love) and find a way that you can "serve them with all of your heart, might, mind and strength" because "when ye are in the service of your fellow beings, ye are in the service of your God"- SO GO SERVE!

With much love,

Elder Simon Quinn Taylor

Notes from Mom: Simon mentioned the earthquake briefly. It was very interesting that on the morning of the earthquake, Tuesday September 19, the CCM held an earthquake drill. The missionaries all evacuated their buildings, and they went to the designated location on the green circles in the road.a few hours later an earthquake of magnitude 7.1 struck. The missionaries evacuated (including the missionary from Simon's district in the bathroom) and went to their designated locations, again. He said he felt this earthquake. "Hey Mom. You may have heard that there was an earthquake here in Mexico City... we felt it. But I'm safe and sound. There is no need to worry. Tell everyone cause I can only email you. One of the elders in our casa was on the toilet when it happened and he had to run out and throw a shirt on. It was really funny." I added some pictures for memory's sake, but Simon wasn't in them.

This week was a great turnaround after last week's homesickness. Simon watched a live broadcast video from the Provo MTC and saw Dawson Nackos in the choir there! More familiar faces! Simon also mentioned that they were going to the temple that day so he would send pictures later...
